There’s something special about America’s National Parks. They protect some of the country’s most extraordinary landscapes, but they also preserve stories—of geology, wildlife, history, people and the places that have shaped the country.

I love exploring the famous sights, but I’m just as interested in what lies beyond the postcard view: the history, the overlooked stops, the scenic drives, the trails worth taking, and the practical details that can make a visit more comfortable and enjoyable.

I’m slowly working my way through the National Parks, one adventure at a time, and sharing what I discover along the way—the spectacular, the unexpected, the practical and occasionally the slightly ridiculous.
