Holiday Abroad — Celebrating the Season, Near and Far

Whenever the holiday season approaches—which seems to happen earlier every year!—I find myself thinking about the festivals, events, parties, and adventures that make this time of year so special.

I truly love the holidays and all the celebrations that come with them.

For my family, the Christmas shopping season begins in September with one of our favorite local traditions, the Genoa Candy Dance (more on that in another post!).

Other communities begin their celebrations with fall festivals, end-of-summer festivities, and events of every kind. Before you know it, the holiday season is in full swing!

And that's something I think we sometimes overlook.

You don't have to travel far to experience a little holiday magic.

I love international travel, wandering through European Christmas markets, and visiting Disneyland to see the Happiest Place on Earth transformed for the holidays.

But sometimes the best celebrations are the ones happening right in our own backyard.

This year, my family is planning to celebrate together at home, and we're preparing for a family-style invasion of the very best kind! 😂❤️

So wherever your holiday adventures take you this year, remember to make time for the festivals, celebrations, and traditions close to home.

After all, Holiday Abroad isn't necessarily about how far you travel. It's about finding a little adventure wherever the season takes you.
